It is easy to understand people in their cultures because cultures form the way of people. One of these influences of cultures is a pop culture such as music and movies. Many people, for example, understand and know America very well because they just see American movies most of their time.

I’ve read some articles about movies and music which said that music and movies are two methods which we can use to take over some other countries cultures. And as consequences, many people don’t know about their own cultures particularly for the young generation. They prefer pop culture more than their own culture. And that was one of our topics which we talked in the classroom as well.

A long time ago many countries were taken over by another country by war. The winner was the owner. Today these kinds of activities don’t work anymore. But there are still many methods that we can see as a way to take over another country, and one of these ways is pop culture such as music, movies and arts.

That was one of my reflection for this week. Another thing was this week we had a new teacher, Heather who replaced Rene just for a week. It was nice having a new teacher with a lot of experience like Heather because she brought along some new ideas for us. We learned some tenses which we could use in a narrative sentence. We also learned future conditional which we could use to talk about some possibilities in the future.

This week actually wasn’t a nice, because it was raining almost all the time. Even it wasn’t good week we still had fun and attractive classes. As I said before, there were many new things around us. We had a new teacher and a new student as well. The new student was a Korean and I was surprised because she had been in Indonesia for a year and she could speak Bahasa. I love having a new student as well because I can learn new things. At least I can learn new cultures. Hopefully next week the weather is going to be better.
